A maternity portrait session is all about the excitement you and your partner feel for your growing baby and of course the growing bump! These sessions are the best way to capture the images of your beautiful belly and the emotions and feelings you and your partner have for your unborn baby. What a better way to remember this time than to look back at these photos and reminisce about creating new life. You will forever cherish these images and remember the true love you had for your baby even before you met.
When should I have maternity photos taken?
I usually recommend clients have maternity photos taken between 34-36 weeks. By this time your bump is nice and round but usually most mum’s are still feeling good. You don’t want to leave it too late in case baby decides to make an early appearance!
Where does the session take place?
During your complimentary pre-session consultation we will discuss your perfect location. If you have a special place in mind do let me know.
What is your style!
Before your session we will have a consultation in my studio or over the phone to discuss what type of session will suit you best. Things we will talk about at your consultation session:
- Would you like a studio portrait session or on location? We are very fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. With beaches, parks, forest and rivers abound we really are spoiled for choice!
- We will discuss outfits. I have a number of maternity dresses that you are welcome to use during the session. We can also do a mixture of more casually styled photos followed by some images wearing my maternity dresses. If the dresses I have available aren’t exactly what you had in mind, for an additional $50 I will add an additional gown to my collection. You choose the gown and colour from my preferred vendor!
Getting in front of the camera
I know that the thought of getting in front of a camera can be intimidating for many. Just rest assured that it is my job to help you feel relaxed and pose you so you look your best!
I love capturing emotions and connections between parents to be. I will get you talking to each other and laughing with each other as that’s when the magic happens!
